ADJUNCT PROFESSORSHIP
The Adjunct Professorship program in the OUSL envisages to attract global experts to enhance its academic standards. The program invites adjunct professors from the staff in prestigious universities or well-established industries to collaborate with faculty members in various disciplines, such as Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Health Sciences, Education, Management Studies, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
The appointment process is non-salaried, and status-only, and the program aims to enable outstanding scholars to contribute to the educational process, promote interdisciplinary approaches, and enhance the university’s international footprint.
Objective of the scheme
- Facilitate outstanding scholars in disciplines such as science and technology, business, media, social research, literature etc., to expand the university’s teaching and research scope, fostering a richer academic environment.
- Promote interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches in learning and research, thereby amplifying the impact of the OUSL in the sphere of higher education.
- Strengthen the capacities of both academics and students by establishing world-class platforms for teaching and research
VISITING SCHOLARS / VISITING FELLOWS
The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) provided opportunities for Visiting Scholars (VS) / Visiting Fellows (VF) from overseas to engage in advanced studies in partnership with the academics of the University in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Health Sciences, Education, Management Studies and Humanities and Social Sciences
INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC FELLOWSHIPS
Objective of the Fellowship
This fellowship programme enables scholars from all over the world to undertake two – to three-months residencies at the OUSL. The programme aims to strengthen the international network of the OUSL and promote the OUSL’s research/academic collaboration with countries of the prospective fellows.
