The Certificate in Social Sciences is a distance education program offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka for employed adults and school leavers over 18 without formal secondary education. Completing the program allows entry into the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and qualifies students to sit for the Selection Test for LL.B and Management degree programs.
Short Course in Chinese Language
A beginner’s course which will allow you to learn the basic communication and language. There will be 15 chapters in this course which will introduce 60 high-frequency Chinese characters and 150 basic words. Additionally, you will get the chance to learn 60 language points.

Master of Arts in Development Studies and Public Policy
The MA in Development and Policy Studies, offered by the Open University of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Marga Institute, aims to enhance education and research in the field through an integrative social sciences approach. The two-year program, conducted in English, equips graduates from various disciplines to work in the development sector both nationally and internationally. It includes 13 regular courses, one Continuing Education course, and a research component, spread over 4 semesters. Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences
The BA in Social Sciences at the Open University of Sri Lanka is a multi-disciplinary degree program starting at Level 3, offered in English. The program spans several years, with each year divided into two semesters, allowing students to complete up to 15 credits per semester. To graduate, a total of 90 credits is required, including compulsory, elective, and Continuing Education (CE) courses. Students must take up to 8 credits of CE courses each year, including compulsory courses like English.
