Declaring University Holidays for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year – 2026

  • Student Affairs and Welfare Division
  • The university will be closed on 13th, 14th, and 15th April 2026 for Sinhala & Tamil New Year.
  • No academic activities from 13th to 17th April 2026.
  • 16th & 17th April are also declared holidays.
  • These will be compensated by:
    • Central Campus: Working Saturdays on 9th & 23rd May 2026
    • Regional/Study Centres: Working Sundays on 10th & 24th May 2026
  • Canteens and hostel (TRF) will be closed; TRF reopens on 17th April 2026.
