Requirements to register for Level 3 / Level 4
Three G.C.E (Advanced Level) passes at any number of sittings or equivalent qualifications or successful completion of relevant foundation courses in science / Advanced Certificate in Science of the OUSL.
Requirements to register for level 5
a) B.Sc/B.Ed students of the OUSL
Passes in all courses (60 credits) at Levels 3 and 4 of Science courses
or,
For Students who have registered on or before the academic year 2015/2016, OCAM in all courses (60 credits)
at Levels 3, and 4 (Science Courses) and passes in courses equal to at least 45 credits at levels 3 and 4 (Science
Courses) –These students are eligible to retain D, D +, C – grades amounting to fifteen (15) credits at Levels 3 and 4 (Science courses).
b) Others;
• Obtained a B.Sc (Natural Sciences) Degree from a recognized University or,
• Diploma in Science from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Open University of Sri Lanka.
Requirements to register for level 6
OCAM in all courses (30 credits) at level 5 of the Bachelor of Education Honours in Natural Sciences Degree
Programme
or,
Exempted from all courses at level 5 of the Bachelor of Education Honours in Natural Sciences Degree
Programme and Passes in all courses (60 credits) at Levels 3 and 4 of Science courses
or,
For Students who have registered on or before the academic year 2015/2016, OCAM in all courses (60 credits) at Levels 3, and 4 (Science Courses) and passes in courses equal to at least 45 credits at levels 3 and 4 (Science

Exemptions from Level 5
Teachers who have successfully followed the 3 years Teacher Education Programme of a National College of
Education and hold the National Diploma in Teaching (Science/Mathematics) would be exempted from level 5 of B.Ed Honours in Natural Science Degree Programme (only for internal students)
