The short courses in Korean Language are designed for students who need the Korean language for general, practical or social purposes. These short courses are designed to facilitate language learning in a step-by-step format in a conducive learning environment.
These courses will be offered at two levels:
⚫ Basic Level
The Basic Course is ideal for complete beginners as well as those who wish to enhance their basic knowledge and understanding of the Korean language. It will offer an introduction to Hangeul (learning the Korean alphabet) as well as practical aspects such as greetings, asking questions, and job and everyday-related vocabulary.
⚫ Intermediate Level
The Intermediate course caters to those who have a basic competence in the Korean language and wish to enhance their skills on the language further. Registered students can either attend classes online (via Google Classroom/Zoom) or onsite at the Colombo Regional Centre, OUSL. They will be required to complete 01 test online, and 2 tests (including the Final Exam) on-site at the Colombo Regional Centre. Classes are conducted by highly qualified local or Korean teachers.

Basic Course: Applicants should be over 16 years of age.
Intermediate course: Applicants should be over 16 years of age and have either passed the Short Course in Korean Language (Basic Level) or pass the selection test/interview conducted by the Department of Language Studies.
