I work as a professor in the Secondary and Tertiary Department of the Open University of Sri Lanka and live in Kandy. In 1985-88, I received my professional education from the Mahaweli National College of Education with distinction pass, and in 1988, I started public service as a teacher.

After graduating from the University of Peradeniya in 1990, in 1993 I completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Education Programme from the Department of Education at the University of Peradeniya. The Post Graduate Diploma Education Programme was also passed with distinction. The gold medal awarded to the best student was also won. Furthermore, I passed the Master of Philosophy of Education Degree from Peradeniya University in the year 2001.

In the year 2007, he took up work as a probetionary lecturer at the Open University of Sri Lanka. Then in 2013, I completed my Ph.D. In the year 2021, I was again promoted to the rank of professor. I also served as the Head of Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education for six consecutive years from 2018 to February 2024.

My subject matter expertise is Educational Sociology, Education management and Teacher Education.
