I am a Senior Lecturer (II) in the Department of Social Studies at The Open University of Sri Lanka, with over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and social consultancy. My academic background is rooted in sociology and anthropology, and I am passionate about connecting academic knowledge with real-world applications.

Throughout my career, I have engaged in a wide range of interdisciplinary research projects related to environmental sociology, gender, education, social justice, and public policy. I have collaborated with national and international organizations on issues such as solid waste management, climate action, media freedom, and human rights. These projects have allowed me to work closely with diverse communities and contribute to evidence-based advocacy and policy recommendations.

I have published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to books and national reports. In addition to my academic work, I have served as a curriculum developer, guest lecturer, trainer, and consultant. I am skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and proficient in tools such as NVivo, SPSS.

I strongly believe in inclusive and socially responsive education and research. My goal is to continue fostering meaningful academic-community partnerships that drive positive social change.

My ongoing sociological research focuses on how slacktivism effect on ethical purchasing habitts of online environmental activities Sri Lanka. This research is framed in to understand the environmental slacktivism in Sri Lanka and how far it directed towards environmental sustainability discourses in the country.  

My previous research work focuses on participatory aspects of solid waste management and it analyzed how community participation can effectively use in handling solid waste among the urban and sub-urban communities in Sri Lanka
