G.M.K.B. Karunasena is graduated from The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) in 2019 with Bachelor of Technology Honors degree in the field of specialization of Mechatronics Engineering. He is awarded the Dean’s Award for the best academic performance in the Mechatronics Engineering stream in 2019. After graduation, he joined The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) attached to the Department of Mechanical Engineering as a demonstrator in 2019. Presently he is serving as a lecturer (probationary) attached to the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Furthermore, he is working as a development member of the Solar Remote Laboratory development in the EUSL-Energy project, conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
