At The Open University of Sri Lanka, we are committed to environmentally responsible practices that minimize plastic usage and promote plastic recycling. To achieve this, we have implemented a rigorous procedure that includes establishing designated plastic collection points across our campus. The collected PET bottles are then thoughtfully handed over to a reputable plastic recycling company that is registered with the Central Environmental Authority. Approximately 44 kg of PET bottles were collected and recycled each month. Together, we contribute to a greener and more sustainable future. Further plastic collecting bins were placed throughout the campus to segregate plastic waste from other waste.
