Short Course on Research Methodology in Education

This short course aims to enhance participants’ skills in research methodology for educational settings, focusing on research designs, data collection, and analysis techniques. Delivered through 12 weekend workshops in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, the course covers topics like formulating research questions, action research, literature review, proposal writing, data analysis (qualitative and quantitative), and SPSS. Participants will gain practical research skills applicable to daily tasks in educational institutions.
Bachelor of Education Honours in Drama and Theatre

The Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education offers this program for Higher Diploma holders in Drama and Theatre from the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation, providing a pathway into the teaching profession. With minor syllabus modifications, graduates of the Diploma in Teaching (Aesthetic Subjects) from Colleges of Education may also enroll. The program aims to build competencies for effective drama and theatre teaching and includes continuous assessments, teaching practice, a project, and a final examination.
Post Graduate Diploma in Education

The Post Graduate Diploma in Education is a 36-credit program at the Open University of Sri Lanka, aimed at providing professional training for graduate teachers and education professionals. It includes 12 courses: 8 compulsory courses, 2 electives out of 6 options, and practical teaching experience. Suitable for graduates in the education field, it enhances teaching skills and professional development.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education Degree Programme

The Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Primary Education at the Open University of Sri Lanka is aimed at teachers, principals, and early childhood caregivers. It enhances knowledge, teaching skills, and professional development in primary education. Participants can earn a Higher Diploma by completing Levels 3 and 4. The program covers teaching theories, classroom management, and engagement with parents and communities to improve primary education quality in Sri Lanka.
Master of Teacher Education (MTE)

The MTE program aims to enhance professional skills among teacher educators in areas such as teaching strategies, educational technology, curriculum design, leadership, and research. The Degree of Master of Arts in Education programme is a 60 credits programme of two (02) academic years. It consists of two levels (Level 9: coursework, and Level 10: two taught courses and a research dissertation).
