Mr. Mahesh is a lecturer, an independent researcher (in the field of business management & technology management) and a professional in business-related disciplines such as financial reporting, financial management, auditing, taxation, etc. in his profession.

He has graduated from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), the most sought-after university for management studies in Sri Lanka, with a Bachelor of Science (Special) degree in Management (Specialized in Accounting and Finance) with Second class upper division pass. He is proud to highlight that he has won many awards, prizes, and scholarships (both locally and internationally) during his academic and professional life so far.

Further, he has obtained numerous professional/academic qualifications from prestigious institutions such as Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka (CPMSL), Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), Royal Asiatic Society of Sri Lanka (RASSL), Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL), Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AATSL), etc.

When it comes to his research career, he is considered as one of the first researchers in Sri Lanka who published on big data analytics in highly reputable “IEEE Xplore”.(This is considered to be a Scopus indexed (high-end) research publication).

Before joining with the university, he has been working as an internal executive in one of the reputed group of companies in Sri Lanka. Apart from that, he has previously worked for and gained exposure from organizations such as Ernst & Young (EY), National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB), Russell Bedford International, Ministry of Finance (Sri Lanka).

He is the founder of research consultancy firm Universal Solutions Network (USN).

He is currently holding various voluntary positions in following reputed academic and professional institutions:

  • Governing Council Member – Royal Asiatic Society of Sri Lanka (RASSL),”The Oldest Academic Institute in Sri Lanka” (2023-todate)
  • A Committee Member of the Education, Research and Development Committee at The Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka (CPMSL) (2022-2023)
