Vavuniya Study Centre

The Vavuniya study Centre of The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) was established in 2000 to expand access to higher education for learners in the Northern Province. It serves as a key study hub providing open and distance learning opportunities to students across Vavuniya districts. The Centre is conveniently located within Vavuniya town, offering easy access to both urban and rural communities. The Vavuniya Centre serves over 650 students enrolled in Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Higher Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate programs. Academic disciplines include Education, Management, Engineering, Information Technology and Social Sciences. Students benefit from flexible learning options and academic counselling services. The Centre is equipped with lecture halls, computer Laboratories, examination halls, and study areas. Additionally, it provides internet and multimedia access to support blended and online learning modes. Facilities include Wi-Fi zones, and self-learning material distribution. The Centre also promotes eco-friendly initiatives such as a green campus environment.
