The program is designed for officers in the Sri Lanka Principals’ Service (SLPS), Sri Lanka Educational Administrative Service (SLEAS), and other interested personnel in similar roles. Its objectives are to enhance knowledge, skills, and attitudes for effective school management, provide hands-on experience in key management areas, and facilitate the application of innovative strategies and trends in school administration.

The program targets officers of the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service (SLEAS) and aims to develop essential competencies for effective educational administration. It focuses on implementing quality educational practices to meet National Educational Goals.
Online Short Course on Teaching Children with Learning Disabilities

The course addresses the challenges teachers face in classrooms with students who have Learning Disabilities (LD). Recognizing that these students often struggle with reading, comprehension, writing, and math, the program aims to equip teachers with essential knowledge and skills. Participants will learn to identify students with LD, enhance their professional skills for facilitating successful learning, and apply Action Research to improve the learning abilities of these students in primary and secondary education.
Short Course on Research Methodology in Education

This short course aims to enhance participants’ skills in research methodology for educational settings, focusing on research designs, data collection, and analysis techniques. Delivered through 12 weekend workshops in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, the course covers topics like formulating research questions, action research, literature review, proposal writing, data analysis (qualitative and quantitative), and SPSS. Participants will gain practical research skills applicable to daily tasks in educational institutions.

Short Course on Early Childhood Development

The Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education at the Open University of Sri Lanka offers various programs focused on enhancing Early Childhood Education. With a growing emphasis on child development, the department provides short courses aimed at equipping educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to support children’s holistic growth.
Short Course in Chinese Language

A beginner’s course which will allow you to learn the basic communication and language. There will be 15 chapters in this course which will introduce 60 high-frequency Chinese characters and 150 basic words. Additionally, you will get the chance to learn 60 language points.
Short Course in Korean Language

The Korean language short courses offer two levels: Basic and Intermediate. The Basic course introduces Hangeul and practical vocabulary, while the Intermediate course builds on existing language skills. Classes are available online or onsite, with tests conducted at the Colombo Regional Centre.
