Mechatronics Engineering specialisation is offered by the Department with the objective of producing well trained Mechatronics engineers/technical personnel and was introduced for the first time to the engineering curricula in Sri Lanka. It deals with an integrated design approach involving mechanical, electronic, and controls engineering in finding solutions to the modern industry as well as meeting commercial needs.
Bachelor of Science Honours in Engineering – Mechanical Engineering

The students opting to follow Mechanical Engineering stream have the option to select courses in automobile engineering, manufacturing engineering and combination of both to meet their specific requirements. Bachelor of Science Honours in Engineering – Electronics & Communication Engineering

The B.Sc. (Hons) in Electronics and Communication Engineering program prepares engineers for careers in electronic and telecommunication systems. It focuses on the design, development, installation, testing, and maintenance of these systems. The curriculum covers core subjects such as electronics principles, microprocessors, communication engineering, microwave systems, and control systems, along with engineering mathematics and management. Bachelor of Software Engineering Honours

The Bachelor of Software Engineering Honours (BSEHons) program prepares graduates for careers as software architects, engineers, system analysts, and QA engineers. Spanning four years, it follows ACM/IEEE curriculum guidelines and focuses on designing and implementing complex software systems while addressing constraints like cost and time. Core units include computer science, programming, software engineering, and Quality Assurance, with an emphasis on communication skills. The program is delivered in English and coordinated by the Center for IT Educational Services (CITES).
Master of Science in Structural Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BIS) program is designed for individuals with a Diploma in Agriculture from recognized institutions. It offers in-depth training in key agricultural areas and includes a six-month research experience at agricultural research stations in Sri Lanka. Students will gain skills in proposal writing, conducting independent research, and presenting their findings. The program lasts a minimum of four years and culminates in an Honors degree.
