Mr. W.D. Manoj’s research spans multiple legal disciplines, with a strong focus on climate adaptation, blockchain technology, human rights, intellectual property, and environmental law. His work critically examines how legal frameworks can be adapted to address emerging challenges in these fields. Notably, his research on traditional knowledge and climate adaptation in Sri Lanka highlights the importance of integrating indigenous practices into policy. Similarly, his studies on blockchain and cryptocurrency explore regulatory gaps and necessary legal reforms to address the evolving financial landscape. His commitment to social justice is reflected in his work on human rights protections, particularly for women domestic workers, children, and the elderly, advocating for stronger legal safeguards and policy interventions.

Beyond human rights and technological law, Mr. Manoj has made significant contributions to intellectual property and environmental law. His research on folklore protection and traditional knowledge critiques the weaknesses in Sri Lanka’s legal framework and proposes reforms for safeguarding cultural heritage. His studies on freedom of speech during the COVID-19 pandemic and the right to a clean environment further demonstrate his engagement with fundamental rights and governance.
