R.A.K.K. Perera is graduated from The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) in 2021 with Bachelor of Technology Honours degree in the field of specialization of Mechatronics Engineering. He was awarded the Dean’s List Award for High Academic Performance in Mechatronics Engineering at OUSL in both 2017/2018 and 2019/2020. He also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Automation in 2025 at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa. After graduation, he worked as a Demonstrator and later as an Automation Engineer before rejoining The Open University of Sri Lanka, where he served as a Temporary Lecturer in 2023 attached to the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Presently he is serving as a lecturer attached to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, conducting lectures and research in Mobile Robotics, Factory Automation, Modelling and Analysis of Dynamic Systems, Design of Classical Control Systems, Mechatronics Systems, Electrical & Fluid Machinery. Furthermore, he is an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (AMIESL) and an Associate Engineer (AEng) registered with the Engineering Council Sri Lanka.
