Dhanushka Sampath Wickramasinghe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Open University of Sri Lanka. He brings over 13 years of experience in engineering research, teaching, and academic administration, alongside over a decade of industry experience working as an Engineer, Consultant, and Tech Entrepreneur. He is highly passionate about embedded system design, engineering product development, and artificial intelligence (AI). He holds a Master of Science in Electronics and Automation from the University of Moratuwa , a Bachelor of Technology in Electronic and Communication Engineering from The Open University of Sri Lanka , and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sciences (Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Additionally, he is deeply involved in technology-enabled teaching and learner support activities within the university.

  • Consulted on providing innovative technology, software, hardware, automation, and IoT solutions to corporate organizations.
  • Managed and consulted on an RFID-based inventory control system capable of handling over twenty-five thousand different item varieties.
  • Co-founded a tech startup, scaling operations to over 30 team members and extending services to encompass IoT solutions, cloud software development, game development, and BPO services.
  • Led research and development for products including a smart utility monitoring system for high-rise apartment complexes and wearable safety devices for children and elders.
  • Served as an Electronic Engineer, managing electronic technical teams and handling the configuration, calibration, and repair of diverse industrial and laboratory equipment.
