Advanced Certificate in Science programme (Foundation Courses for Science & Engineering Degree)
The Advanced Certificate in Science Programme (ACS) is designed to encourage those without the basic entry qualifications to pursue higher studies in Bachelor of Degree, Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BIT) and Bachelor of Industrial Studies (BIS) programmes to achieve such qualifications.
Courses are delivered according to the Level 2 of the Sri Lanka Qualification Framework (SLQF) (equivalent to GCE (Advanced Level).
The credit content of courses is thirty (30) per each level, which will include six (6) courses, each of five (5) credit weightage totaling up to ten (10) credit of courses each for a discipline. The main disciplines are Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. The courses will be offered by the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

In this course, you will gain in-depth knowledge of HTML and CSS while exploring other web technologies such as JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, web servers, and clients. You will also learn about network concepts related to the web. Through hands-on experience, you will develop projects ranging from a simple news blog to advanced websites using WordPress, with an introduction to Joomla.
