Second Phase of the 38th General Convocation of the Open University of Sri Lanka

The second phase of the 38th General Convocation of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on 10 May 2026, commencing at 8.30 a.m., under the patronage of the Chancellor of OUSL, Dr. Upali Mampitiya, and the Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor P. M. C. Thilakaratne. The convocation proceedings continued on 11 May 2026.

During this phase of the convocation, a total of 2,218 graduates were conferred degrees from the Faculties of Management Studies, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Engineering Technology, as well as the Postgraduate Institute of English.

The Open University of Sri Lanka plays a vital role in expanding access to higher education by providing opportunities for individuals who may not have access to conventional university education.
