1 January 2026 marks a historic milestone for the MSc in Energy for Circular Economy (MECE) Programme.
At the General Convocation 2025 (I) of The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL), to be held at the BMICH, Colombo, the first batch of MECE students following the OUSL track will graduate at the world’s first carbon-neutral university convocation. Students from the other three partner-university tracks of the MECE Programme will graduate at the upcoming convocations of their respective universities, further strengthening the programme’s joint, multi-university, and international character.
This landmark event is made even more significant as MECE graduates have taken a leadership role in planning and supporting this convocation as a carbon-neutral event, clearly demonstrating the programme’s strong practical commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles.
This achievement highlights the MECE Programme’s strong alignment with global sustainability goals, EU-aligned academic standards, and future-focused professional pathways, producing graduates ready to lead in energy transition, circular economy, climate action, and sustainability sectors worldwide.
🎓🌱 Congratulations to the pioneering MECE graduates on being part of history.
Together, we celebrate academic excellence, sustainability leadership, and a carbon-neutral future.
