Mr. H.M. Buddhika Krishantha, who is an undergraduate student of Department of Civil Engineering, won the best presenter award in the special session of Advance Waste Management and Recycling Technologies in International Conference on Resource Efficiency Towards Sustainability 2025 (ICRES 2025), recently held in Cinnamon Life -City of Dreams, Colombo. This award was won for presenting the paper “Partial Replacement of Cement by ceramic and porcelain waste in concrete interlocking paving block production for sustainability” with the co-authorship of Dr. A.M.L.N. Gunathilaka, who was the supervisor of the final year research project of Mr. Krishantha. This recognition highlights the significant contribution of their research to the field of sustainability, showcasing innovative ways to reduce environmental impact in construction materials through the use of waste products.
