Kurunegala Regional Centre (KuRC) of the Open University of Sri Lanka is one of the earliest study centres which commenced its operations in late 1990s, which upgraded as a Regional Centre from year 2014 which dedicated to uplift the educational standards of the people in Kurunegala and surrounding areas.

The regional centre caters the demands of educational sector in North Western province where having second largest economic growth rate among the nine provinces in Sri Lanka during 2010-2013. As the strong educational service delivering institute, the Regional Centre of the Open University is in a positive position to contribute significantly to future development of the North Western region and the well-being of the general public.

Facilities
  • Currently there are 5lecture rooms in our regional center and two of them have the fascility to 50 students and the other three have fascility for 25 students in each. Each lecture room has the multy media fascility to conduct lectures. The floor area of this regional center is 500 m3..We have a regional library to fascilitate our students to reffer many international and local text books, course materials with a collection of 2100 books and journals.There are two computer labs in our regional center and each have 20 PC’s with internet fascility for students who engage in our computer studies . We also have the fascilityto provide online courses through online materials which can be accessed by the student from his/her own home.
