The International Relations Unit (IRU) is the interface between OUSL and the global academic community. IRU is tasked with spearheading the growth of OUSL internationally by encouraging and guiding cross directional engagement with academic institutes, governmental, non-governmental and corporate entities.
IRU contributes to the internationalization of the University by leading and supporting:
- International policy development, research and the provision of strategic and country-specific advice to the University senior management, faculties and other areas;
- The establishment, development and review of the University's formal bilateral and multilateral relations with overseas universities;
- Interoperability of international relations strategy with key government and non-government agencies and diplomatic missions in Sri Lanka and overseas;
- The acts of networking and liaising with stakeholders in the corporate sector and OUSL alumni in Sri Lanka and overseas;
- The management of an international visitor program for high level visitors to the University.
