Presently employed as the Professor in Textile and Apparel Technology in the Department of Textile and Apparel Technology.

Awarded with the degree of Diplom-Ingenieur (Msc) (Class – Very Good Pass) by the Technical University, Dresden, Germany in 1981.

Awarded with the degree Doktor-Ingenieur (PhD) (Class – Very Good Pass) by the Stuttgart University, Germany in 1988.

Former Head  of the Department of Textile and Apparel Technology, Open University of Sri Lanka, from 2002 -2004
