I am Samanthi Nayanakumari Jayasinghe graduated BA (Social Sciences) Degree with the second-class upper division, MPhil in Educational Sociology, PhD from the Open University of Sri Lanka and Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) with the Distinction pass from the University of Colombo.

I have been working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education Faculty of Education at the Open University of Sri Lanka since 2002. I obtained my PhD in the field of Child Rights. My research directions are Child Rights, Foundation of Education, Contemporary Education and Primary Education.

I enjoy supporting in young generation, doing research, and generating new knowledge consists with both hard and soft skills.
