Greetings! I am Dulanii Liyanahetti from the Department of Social Studies of the Faculty of HSS. Currently I am serving as a Lecturer in Economics. I obtained my BA (Hons) Degree in Economics from the University of Colombo in 2009 and I also completed my MA in Economics in 2012 again at the University of Colombo. I am also qualified as a lawyer but being an academic is my major interest. My research interests include fiscal decentralization and economic growth, social sector expenditure and knowledge economy. My next aim is to pursue my doctoral studies. I like to read newspapers, write papers and listen to music during my spare time. I mostly like horror movies and to study about extra terrestrial creatures or life beyond earth. At OUSL the study culture is totally different as the teaching methods are basically blended. For instance developing on-line courses and study modules forms an important part in ODL. It gives a new experience to students and we as teachers are also facing many challenges in that process. Therefore, I am very much keen to explore the opportunities in that frontier so that teaching is made both innovative and fun.
