The Centre for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development (CESSD), The Open University of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka, successfully conducted the Green Wisdom Forum 2026 on 16 June 2026.
The forum was held as a hybrid event, with physical participation at the Health Sciences Auditorium, The Open University of Sri Lanka, and online participation via Zoom.
The event featured a presentation on “Aesthetic Sustainability & Visual Pollution” by Dr.Chandana Kulasuriya, Chartered Civil Engineer and Senior Lecturer in Engineering at The Open University of Sri Lanka.
During the session, Dr. Kulasuriya examined the concepts of aesthetic sustainability and visual pollution from environmental and philosophical perspectives. The presentation highlighted how aesthetic considerations influence sustainability discourse and explored the impact of visual pollution on contemporary environments and human perception.
The forum attracted participants from academic, professional, and public sectors, providing a valuable platform for discussion and knowledge sharing on sustainability-related issues. The interactive session encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of integrating aesthetic values into sustainable development practices.
