Ms. S.A.D.N. Prabodini, who is a graduate of the Department of Civil Engineering, won a merit award in Best Research Award – 2024 conducted by the Institute of Applied Statistics, Sri Lanka for her undergraduate engineering research project on “Structural Failure Propagation in Paragastota Bridge” which was supervised by Dr. P.A.K. Karunananda. The award ceremony was held on 6th April 2025 at the OPA Sri Lanka. This award signifies the contribution of their research in the field of statistical methods for structural health monitoring of bridges in Sri Lanka in achieving a sustainable and cost effective bridge maintenance strategy.
