Mr. Asanka Senevirathne, Senior Lecturer in Accountancy & Business Finance 

Young Lecturer with a friendly spirit, possessing good values is what comes to mind when meeting the dashing and smashing, youthful Asanka Senevirathne. His carrier is blessed with successful academic and professional records which he has achieved by right now in the field of Accountancy and Business finance.

Mr.Asanka Senevirathne at present is a Senior Lecturer in Accountancy and Business Finance attached to the Department of Accounting & Finance , Faculty of Management Studies, of the Open University of Sri Lanka. He joined to the OUSL in 03.12.2012. He holds a MBA (Merit) from University of Wayamba and  B.Sc Accountancy and Business Finance (Sp) (1st Class Honours) from the same University. He is a member of Association of Accounting Technicians in Sri Lanka (MAAT- 4994) and Student at Corporate Level of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Sri Lanka. At present he is reading for his PhD at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo Sri Lanka.

Prior to joining the Open University of Sri Lanka in 2012, Mr.Senevirathne, served as an Assistant Lecturer attached to the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Business Studies and Finance of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka from 01.09.2009 to 02.12.2012. In addition to the lecturing Mr.Senevirathne coordinated the internship programme of the Department of Accountancy and contributed to the development of Journal of Accounting and Finance issued by the Department of Accountancy of Wayamba University. At present Mr. Senevirathne, is coordinating the MBA in HRM Programme offered by the Department of Human Resource Management. He is speciallized in the field of Accounting & Finance and currently conduct in the field of “Personal Financial Management”, specially area of “Personal Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion”, In addition to that, he conduct research in the area of Open Distance Learning (ODL) as a core area of academic role at the Open University of Sri Lanka. He anchored a miles stone achievement on the November 27 2018 by achieving a Gold Medal for the Best Paper Award for the Co-Author research with Ms. H.C.Dassanayeke at the Asian Association of Open University Annual Conference in Hanoi Vietnam. Mr. Senevirathne, Initiated two certificate courses with Mr. C.P.Weerasekara in November 2018. This is the 1st time of the Open University history offered Certificate Courses in Financial Accounting and Computer Based Accounting.

Mr. Senevirathne is emerging youth who creeping in to the high standard society by undergoing many hardships. It is defined and undoubted that this young lecturer will possess a high rank in Sri Lankan higher education system in the future.
