Foundation Academic Unit (FAU) is responsible for coordinating with different faculties in the design, development and delivery of foundation courses for the benefit of learners who have not passed the relevant subjects at the G.C.E (A/L) examination that required for the enrolment to the degree programmes.
FAU operates under a director appointed by the Vice Chancellor from among academic staff of the university. Decisions relating to academic and operational functions are taken by a Board of Management with the concurrence of relevant faculties that provide entry to their degree study programmes through foundation programmes as alternative entry qualifications. The study programmes and the relevant curricula together with courses are designed and developed by relevant faculties. The faculties also involve in the delivery of courses and assessments through courses coordinators appointed from among the revenant faculty staff.
