OPEN UNIVERSITY TOASTMASTERS CLUB

Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization with a global network of clubs that teaches public speaking and leadership abilities. The organization, which is headquartered in the United States, has over 300,000 members in over 15,800 clubs in 149 countries. Toastmasters International has been helping people from all walks of life become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders since 1924. Integrity, respect, service, and excellence are basic principles of Toastmasters International. Toastmasters began in Sri Lanka in 1982, and it is now part of Toastmasters International’s District 82. Open University Toastmasters is one of Sri Lanka’s active Toastmasters clubs. The club is at the center of everything at Toastmasters. Open University Toastmasters club has been chartered at the university since 2017. Staff at the Open University of Sri Lanka are encouraged to join Toastmasters clubs. The Open University Toastmasters engages in educational sessions, prepared speeches, evaluations, and impromptu speeches. Employees of Open University are welcome to join the club in order to get experience with public speaking, communication, leadership, and personality development.
