Introduction
The Kilinochchi Study Centre of the Open University of Sri Lanka was declared and opened with the help of under the patronage of Government Agent and Divisional Secretariat of Kilinochchi in the period of Former Vice Chancellor, honorable Prof. Vithana Paththitana in 2012. Now, It is permanently located at 155th Mile Post of the A9 Road about around 1km distance from north the District Hospital, Kilinochchi. It is located the heart of the Northern Province and surrounding beautifully situated in the natural calm place.

The Kilinochchi Study Centre of the Open University, Sri Lanka provides higher education opportunities for the students in the District. After the war, the youngsters specially the school levers are very keen to develop their livelihood through education. “Education for all” is the great impact on the life of one’s future in the country. At this juncture, Kilinochchi Study Centre plays a major role for a bright future of the people in this District. The Study Centre gives the great opportunities to the students from the age of eighteen to all without any age barriers for studies. For all the students who are interested to pursue higher education, it is a great avenue established with proper infrastructure facilities. It is the great asset for our people to continue their studies on their own wishes and get the job opportunities for their bright future. We are now offering from advanced Certificate to Post Graduate Levels.
