We welcome you to the programme, Higher Diploma in Youth Development, on behalf of the Department of Social Studies. This guideline attempts to draw your attention to some important points on which you are advised to read carefully and follow in your academic dealings. Higher Diploma in Youth Development Programme is offered by the Department of Social Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) and the programme was initially collaborated by the Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP). This diploma intends to empower young people to maximize their human potential and help in transformation of youth as partners of development.
This Programme is offered at two levels (two years) ̶Level 3 and Level 4 in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages. The total course credit amount for each year is 30 and once you successfully complete all 60 course credits you will be awarded a Higher Diploma certificate.
