OUSL Successfully Concludes 7th AAOU Inter-University Staff Exchange Fellowship Programme

The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) Inter-University Staff Exchange Fellowship Programme 2023. With this initiative, OUSL offered two short-term fellowships to staff members from China and Pakistan in 2023 for a period of one month. The fellowship receivers were Prof. Sun Chuanyuan from Shanghai Open University, China, and Assistant Professor Munazza Jabeen from Allama Iqbal Open University, Pakistan.

During the one-month period, they engaged in research. Prof. Sun Chuanyuan conducted his research on “Pathways of Improving the Quality of MOOCs in OUSL” while Dr. H. M. C. J. Herath, Director, Center for Quality Assurance worked as his collaborator. Assistant Professor Munazza Jabeen conducted her research on “Accessing Quality Assurance Dimensions of ICT Technology in Online Library Services: A Distance Learning Perspective in Asian Open Universities and her collaborators were Prof. Anton Piyarathne, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Mrs. H.P.S.D. Gunasekara, Deputy Librarian of the OUSL.

As a highlight of the programme, the International Relations Unit of OUSL organized two public lectures on research experience which were held on the 5th and 6th of December 2023, and it provided a platform for best practices in the field of open education. Further, two research fellows benefited from the two-day official visit to the OUSL Anuradhapura Regional Centre.
