The Buckyball Society was established in 1996 by the Department of Chemistry to create an interest in Science in general and Chemistry in particular among the students of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL).

ZooNet of OUSL is an approved society of staff and students of the Open University of Sri Lanka.

The iTeam provides mainly Computer Science and Information Technology related services to the university, its students, and the society at large by enhancing the technical competency under the guidance of its academic & technical staff. It also takes part in social activities by applying knowledge and skills to benefit others or serve the public for the betterment of society.
