Course aims are,
To provide knowledge of evolutionary steps in modern fishes, structural adaptations of external and internal anatomy help to their specific mode of life and identify commercially important fish species in Sri Lanka and their nutritional value and also improve the quality of habitats and different gears and crafts using in these habitats.
Facilitate develop inland fisheries industry in Sri Lanka and develop ability to solve problems related to fish population dynamics, analyse and interpret information and develop management strategies for sustainable fisheries.
