I graduated from the University of Colombo in 1981 and worked in the same university as a temporary
demonstrator till 1983. After a period of three years I joined the academic field as a temporary
demonstrator in the Department of Botnay in 1987. In 1991 I was made permanent as an Educational
Assistant in which capacity I served the univeristy till 2011. After my Masters in Plant Cell and Tissue
Culture from the University of Colombo I was promoted to the post Lecturer Probationary in Botany. I
obtained my M.phil. 2018 and from then onwards until todate I serve as a Senior Lecturer in Botany.
