I received a Master’s Degree in Computer Science in 2002 from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. I was working under the supervision of Prof. Peter Haddawy.
Having graduated from the University of Colombo in early 1995 with an Honors Degree specializing in the area of Computer Science, I immediately joined the computer industry, as an Analyst Programmer.
In early 1996, I joined the Mathematics Division of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Open University of Sri Lanka as a Temporary Demonstrator. Starting as a Temporary Demonstrator, I have been working in the capacities of Temporary Lecturer, Probationary Lecturer, Senior Lecturer Gr II and now as a Senior Lecturer Gr I in the department of Mathematics, the department of Mathematics and Computer Science and in the department of Computer Science.
In the past 25 years, I served as the Head of the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, Director of the Operational & Technical Secretariat of the HETC project of the World Bank, and also the founder (June 2017) Head of the Department of Computer Science.
