I am currently working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Zoology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences in the Open University of Sri Lanka. I gained my B.Sc (Hon’s) degree in Zoology, with a First class and M.Phil degree in Ecotoxicology and Parasitology in 2008 from the University of Peradeniya. I completed my doctoral degree in University of Colombo in 2016 by conducting a research study in the field of Environmental Toxicology.
My research and teaching are focused mainly on the field of Environmental Toxicology and Pollution science. I teach, Animal Life and Diversity, Environmental Toxicology, Immunology as key teaching areas at the University. I currently work on research projects on chronic kidney disease of Unknown aetiology and Microplastic dynamics in food webs in Sri Lanka.
