Dr. P. R. Haputhanthri

B.Sc (University of Peradeniya); MSc in Chemistry, Mississippi State University, Mississippi, USA; PhD in Chemistry (Monash University, Victoria, Australia)

Senior Lecturer (G II)

Department of Chemistry

I earned my Ph. D. (with Prof. Donald McNaughton, Prof. Bayden R Wood and Emeritus Prof. Glen Deacon. on A Spectroscopic investigation into the interaction of novel Platinum (IV) and Platinum (II) anticancer drugs with DNA and cells” in 2017 from the Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. From October 2017 to March 2022, I was a Research Fellow at the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology where I carried out research work in the areas of nanoencapsulation, and client- based analytical chemistry.

I joined The Open University of Sri Lanka as a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry (2022-April-up to date). I have authored about 1 chemistry book name SERS of Thiobarbituric Acid (TBA) and TBA Reactive Compounds: Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS)

I involved in publishing over 6 Scientific Papers in International refereed Journals with 198 citations and I have presented about in 3 Conferences.
