Dept. of Mathematics

I H.O.W. Peiris received B.Sc. (Honors) Degree in Mathematics special with First class from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka in 2010. I started my academic career as an instructor at Department of Mathematics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura from 2010 to 2012.  I was joined as a Temporary lecturer at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences in 2012 and appointed as the Lecturer (probationary) in the same department in 2014.  In the meantime, I was joined as a postgraduate student in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science in University of Colombo. My Ph.D. research was based on mathematical modeling and received grant from University of Colombo to carry out work with my overseas supervisor in National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India. I was able to finish the PhD research in 2019. I have published several articles in peer reviewed journals, conference abstracts/full papers and book/book chapters.

Currently, I am engaged in collaborative research work in Research & Development Centre for Mathematical Modeling at University of Colombo.
