Dr Kithsiri Hector Jayawardana holds a B.Sc. (special) degree from the University of Kelaniya. He has studied fish parasites and fish transport methods for his special degree. He joined with Filariasis research project sponsored by the World Health Organization at the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Colombo and earned a Degree of Master of Philosophy. He has completed postgraduate training at the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam. Dr. Kithsiri served in the Department of Microbiology, University of Colombo and obtained his PhD based on studies in immuno- virology. Currently involved in a collaborated research project with the government of Pakistan, He has published several local and international research papers in Hybridoma technology, Parasitology. Virology and Cytochemistry.
