I have completed my Ph.D. in 2017 for a thesis titled Development of Models for Assessing Costs and Effectiveness of Open and Distance Learning Programmes: a Case study of the Open University of Sri Lanka at the OUSL. In 2010, I completed Postgraduate Diploma in Distance Education, from the Open University of Sri Lanka, 2010. I received a two-year master’s degree in 2004 in Computer Science for theory papers and individual project titled A Web based Computer Laboratory Reservation System for OUSL, from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. I obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Technology in 1993, from Institute of Computer Technology, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. I am a Physical Science graduate in University of Peradeniya. Subjects followed for the first degree were Chemistry, Pure Mathematics and Physics.
I have joined the Open University of Sri Lanka in 1992 as a Temporary Demonstrator and served at Ambalangaoda Study Centre and Colombo Regional Centre(CRC). Subsequently, I was able to promoted as Educational Assistant Grade I in Elementary Computer Laboratory at CRC in 1994. Further, I was able to promoted as the Lecturer in Regional Educational Service in 2005, Subsequently, I was promoted as Senior Lecturer Grade II in 2017 after completing my PhD and transferred to Department of Computer Science in 2019.
I had performed duties as Acting Assistant Director/CRC for the period of 2005 to 2011. I was a course coordinator of the Combined Mathematics course of the programme of Foundation in OUSL year 2015/2016. I worked as Officer in Charge of the Central Dispatch Unit from September 2017 to December 2021.
One of course coordinator and the chief examiner for the courses of FEK2130 (Word for Windows) and FEK2132 (Excel for Windows) from academic year 2010/2011 to 2014/2015 -(for 4 years) offered by Faculty of Engineering Technology.
