I am currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry. I graduated from the Institute of Chemistry, Ceylon in 1984. I joined the OUSL in 1985 and was appointed as a Lecturer in Chemistry in 2005.  I obtained the Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education and Master of Arts in Distance Education from the Indira Gandhi National Open University, India. I also received an M. Phil degree from the Open University of Sri Lanka in 2008. I am presently engaged in research related to Chemical Education and Distance education. 

I am currently the Senior coordinator for the Level 3 Course CYU3300 Basic Principles of Chemistry I. I also serve as the Programme Coordinator of the Diploma in Food Science Programme offered by the Department of Chemistry.
