The Centre for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development (CESSD) at the Open University of Sri Lanka organized a Shramadana Campaign on October 21, 2024. This initiative brought together students and academic staff in a collective effort to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The campaign began with an awareness session on sustainable waste management practices, focusing on the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) concepts. Participants then actively engaged in cleaning efforts, collecting waste, which was responsibly handed over to Cleantech Pvt. Ltd., a recycling company registered under the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) of Sri Lanka. This program exemplifie university commitment to fostering sustainable practices and community involvement in environmental protection.
