Introduction
Trincomalee Study Centre of the Open University of Sri Lanka is the first National University, which caters to the higher educational needs of the Trincomalee people through Open Distance Learning mode (ODL).It had been functioning at different temporary locations before it began its full operations on a separate building with an office and classrooms on February,2015.
At present, Trincomalee Study Centre is functioning on a rented out building. We are looking forward to establish it on our own land and building in the near future in Kappalthurai, Trincomalee.
Currently there are more than 300 students following programmes.We offerfew Degree Programmes,some short programmes and few short courses in addition to one and only Post Graduate Diploma in the field of Education.We are looking forward to offer more and more programmes offered by the Departments of Studies of the Open University of Sri Lanka in the future.

Trincomalee Study Centre of the Open University of Sri Lanka is the first National University, which caters to the higher educational needs of the Trincomalee people through Open Distance Learning mode (ODL).It had been functioning at different temporary locations before it began its full operations on a separate building with an office and classrooms on February,2015.
At present, Trincomalee Study Centre is functioning on a rented out building. It consists of four lecture rooms with multi media facilities, which could accommodate 40,20,20 and 20 students respectively. We conduct most of our examinations and few academic activities in the nearby schools. We are looking forward to establish it on our own land and building in the near future in Kappalthurai, Trincomalee.
Currently there are more than 300 students following programmes. We offer three Degree Programmes, some short programmes and few short courses in addition to one and only Post Graduate Diploma in the field of Education.
The programmes offered by the Trincomalee Study Centre will help students improve their skills and knowledge in various fields. Foundation programmes offered by us will help students to pursue Bachelors and Post Graduate Degree programmes in the fields of Management, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Languages, Health Sciences and Social Sciences.
Applicants who have no access to online facilities at their homes could apply for programmes conducted by the Open University of Sri Lanka via online by visiting Trincomalee Study Centre since only online applications are accepted. New registrations, reregistrations and examinations for almost all programmes are held in the Trincomalee Study Centre.
