Introduction
The Open University Polonnaruwa Study centre is situated in the Ancient city Polonnaruwa and approximately 2 kilometers from Polonnaruwa Town. The university was established in 1989 with the focus of facilitating the community in the Polonnaruwa district through the services given by the university. This is the first ever university established in Polonnaruwa district.
We are offering a wide range of academic programmes from foundation level to post graduate level by providing high quality, affordable and relevant education through Open Distance Learning methodologies and ensure lifelong learning opportunities to face challenges in a knowledge society for our students. Inspired by the vision of to be the premier Open and Distance Learning institution in Asia through excellence, efficiency and equity in lifelong learning the open university of Polonnaruwa is dedicated to gift the future leaders to the world from Polonnaruwa district.
