Re- registration & Resumption of Academic Activities of the Department of Social Studies
for 2021/2022 Academic Year
Dear Students,
The Open University of Sri Lanka (The OUSL) is in the process of finalizing the online registration platform identified as the NEW OMIS, that enable students to register for the programmes in the distant mode without physically presenting themselves at the university. The undue delay of this process is beyond our control and the existing pandemic situation and health conditions have badly hampered our level of efficiency in registering the new intake of students. Further if we had not attempted to develop the online platform at this crucial juncture, the entire student registration process would have been on hold until health restrictions are relaxed to meet physically.
The Regional Educational Service (RES) of the Open University or the respective regional centre, which is responsible for the students’ registration activities will get in touch with you in due course. Immediately after the re-registration is over the SSD is ready to start academic activities similarly how we operated during the last academic year.
Kindly note that this notice is applicable for the students who are currently registered for the programmes offered by the SSD that is; Advanced Certificate in Social Sciences, BA in Social Sciences, BA in Youth and Community Development, Higher Diploma in Youth in Development, MA in Development Studies and Public Policy.
We appreciate your patience with regard to the undue delay caused in student registration and commencement of academic activities of the current academic year. Also, the efforts taken on your part to constantly inquire and follow up kept up our spirit to make this almost impossible task a reality. Please always refer to the notice board of the SSD for updates (Notice Board-Social Studies dept – OUSL).
With thanks and stay safe
