The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides the students with opportunities to advance themselves in their career and become graduate engineers in the specialties of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering. Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Laboratory

This laboratory allows students to investigate important parameters such as hydrogen production rate, electrical efficiency, voltage-current characteristics, power output, energy conversion efficiency, and the effect of operating conditions on system performance. It provides hands-on experience with hydrogen generation, renewable energy storage, and clean power generation technologies.

Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Training Laboratory

The Advanced Automotive and Electric Vehicle Systems Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The Open University of Sri Lanka is established to provide hands-on training, research opportunities, and practical exposure in modern automotive technologies.

Power Electronics Laboratory

The Power Electronics Laboratory provides students with practical experience in analyzing, designing, and testing power electronic circuits and systems.
