Mission

“Achieving excellence in providing life–long learning opportunities in engineering and technology for all to meet industrial and social needs through open and distance learning, and support research and scholarship by efficient and sustainable use of resources.”

Faculty of Engineering Technology offers a variety of study programmes leading to the awards of Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Higher Diplomas, Honors Bachelor Degrees, and Postgraduate Diplomas and Degrees encompassing a many engineering and industrial specializations as needed by the industry in line with the Sri Lanka Qualifications Frame Work. Major honors degrees awarded by the Faculty are the Bachelor of Technology (Engineering), Bachelor of Industrial Studies, and Bachelor of Software Engineering.

In addition to the taught study programmes the Faculty through its well equipped academic departments facilitates research leading to the awards of MPhil and PhD degrees.

All activities, displayed in the ‘Activity Diary for Second Term- from 15th May to 20th July 2021′,  that are to be conducted on two weekends 26th and 27th of June and 03rd and 4th of July are rescheduled to facilitate the smooth conduct online CAT 1. The rescheduled dates are as follows:

Conduct of CAT 1 Using the Online Mode– Faculty of Engineering Technology
 
The Faculty is of the view that the CAT 1 cannot be conducted in the normal Onsite Examination mode due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Therefore, the Faculty took a decision to conduct the CAT 1 using the Online mode for all the courses. Already the Department of Mechanical Engineering has scheduled Online CATs for some courses from 09/06/2021. All other departments for all their courses and the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the remaining courses have planned to conduct Online CATs starting from  26/06/2021. 
The schedule containing exact dates of online CATs will be uploaded to the Faculty Webpage in due course. Before facing the actual CATs the students will be given the opportunity to practice Online CATs in addition to a mock test. Details will be informed through Faculty Web pageLearnOUSL LMS and your official email addresses.
Hence, please keep looking up the Faculty webpage regularly for Notices and also keep yourself engaged in studies and prepare yourself for the CATs.
